Abstract
The present status of business in India and the necessity to continuously produce new products for new applications in the field are discussed.  While carrying out new product development, it is necessary to delight the customer  with excitement needs.  Lucas TVS has standardized the process of new product development from 1998 and is improving the process continuously based on PDCA (Plan-Do—Check-Act) and SDCA (Standardise – Do-check-Act) processes.
The presentation describes the new product development process  carried out in L-TVS.  Various elements of new product development to delight the customer including Quality objective, Quality function deployment, effective design reviews, design to target cost, project management, lean manufacturing system,  design to target cost, design for manufacturability,  reliability predictions and growth are discussed.
An example product has been taken and the processes carried out and the results are explained.  New product development process used in L-TVS has been a grand success and has led to growth in revenue for the company and effective delight to the customers.
