It goes without saying how critical role, requirement capture and tracking, plays during product development. In Today’s competitive environment, it is very important to capture what a customer really wants and develop the product as per customer’s expectations. OEMs are increasingly turning to Systems Engineering approach of product development for realization of successful product. Many applications are used during systems engineering and often they are disconnected. This results in loosing track of the actual requirement of the customer. Most of the applications offer ‘point solutions’ and seamless information flow across all applications still pose a big challenge to many organizations. This paper explores how mobility can aid systems engineering approach using different mobility features. It proposes different touch points for mobility applications with existing product development applications which can provide right information at right time for taking right decision during product development. It explains how different mobility features can help to capture requirement, ensuring product is developed as per the requirement and close the loop in terms of understanding if the final product meets customer’s expectations. Mobility can provide last mile connectivity for ensuring successful product development.
