The X-section pile is the cast-in-place concrete pile which is formed by driving X-shaped steel mould. The full-scale model test was carried out to investigate the behavior of X-section pile under lateral load, including the comparative test of X-section pile and the circular section pile under lateral loads in double-soil foundation. The result shows that the lateral bearing capacity of X-section pile is higher compared with the equivalent circular section pile. The numerical model of the X-section pile has been conducted to investigate the effect of loading direction and elastic modulus of pile and soil on the behavior of X-section pile under lateral load. The model was verified its validity compared with experimental results. The numerical simulation results shows that the lateral loading direction can influence the bearing capacity of X-shaped pile, the lateral bearing capacity of X-shaped pile can be improved by increasing the elastic modulus of pile and subsoil.
