ABSTRACT

In this paper, a complex multi-body building is presented. Three buildings were connected by three bridges supported by gliding support on the one side of connected structure and hinge support on the other side. A seismic hybrid control system was proposed. Based on the comparative nonlinear time history analysis of the structure with and without the control devices, it is found that the controlling system dramatically reduces the gliding displacement of the bridges and the displacement of the supporting column of the grid frame. It will benefit engineers in the design of similar buildings in seismic zones.
