ABSTRACT

Analysis of the measured structural response records under strong ground motions is always one of the important ways to study on the structure seismic behavior. After 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, a 33-storey frame-shear wall structure was tested in site for continuous twenty four hours, and numbers of dynamic response records at the top of the structure under real earthquake actions were received. By analyzing these response records received from tests, dynamic properties data under different response amplitudes are obtained. Combination of damage survey on some high-rise frame-shear wall structures, some damage rules of the frame-shear wall structure under earthquake actions are discussed. Based on changes of dynamic properties, some ideas are proposed for engineering application of structural damage detection and health monitoring using vibration data. The paper presents that it is necessary to study on the relationship between the real dynamic performance and the performance showed in ambient vibration.
