ABSTRACT

In contrast with the Modern Mechanized Deep Piling Operation, safety seems to be the major concern on Hand Dug Caisson Work. However, with our up-to-day technical knowhow incorporated with the traditional method, Hand Dug Caisson has proved itself to be in line as effective as, if not better than, the other foundation systems in all aspects including Safety, Quality, Design and Implementation. Deep Hand Dug Caisson Foundation Work with total capacity of 215,000 metric ton in full scale Instrumentation with close monitoring scheme has been successfully built in downtown of Singapore. With equal safety standard as others, Hand Dug Caisson can also be the most Environmental Friendly type of deep foundation system.
